from tolerated to treasured

There is a quiet hurt in being merely tolerated—present, but not counted; included, but not embraced. They say they want you, but they really don’t. That hurt is the space where you shrink, question your value, and settle—because you believe that’s all you’re worth.

But Scripture reminds us: that’s not your portion.

“You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession…” (1 Peter 2:9).

God never relates to us from obligation; He moves toward us in love. And if we are made in His image, our relationships should reflect that same intentionality. Being “wanted” isn’t about ego—it’s about alignment. Alignment with spaces, people, and assignments where your presence is received with joy, not reluctance.

Ask God for courage to release relationships where you are only accommodated, not celebrated. Choose environments that mirror heaven’s posture toward you. Not every room deserves your staying power.

Lastly, know you are worthy and worthy of more. When you truly understand that you are loved by God and that your identity is in Him, you refuse people’s leftover affirmations.

So let this be your gentle but firm reminder: You do not have to remain where you are merely tolerated. Trust God and seek His plan for you to be and have more.
