set apart: engaging God’s purpose

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 ESV

Celebrating 30 Years in Christian Media | 5 Ways to Engage God’s Purpose for Your Life

There is a distinct call on your life—intentional, God-breathed, and set apart. Purpose is not accidental, nor is it reserved for a select few. It is God’s design for you, shaped over time through faith and grace. As I reflect on 30 years in Christian media, I am grateful. And I’ve come to understand that walking in purpose is less about striving to “arrive” and more about choosing, daily, to align with what God has already spoken.

Here are five simple, sacred ways to lean into His purpose for your life:

1. Stay Close to His Voice

God-breathed purpose begins with and in His presence. Time with God isn’t just devotion—it’s direction. The more you listen, the clearer His leading becomes.

2. Honor What’s in Your Hands

What you’re doing right now matters. God often reveals purpose not in the grand, but in the faithful stewardship of today.

3. Embrace the Process

Growth can feel slow, hidden, even uncomfortable. But every season—especially the stretching ones—is shaping you for what’s ahead.

4. Serve with What You Have

Your gifts don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. When surrendered to God, what you carry becomes exactly what someone else needs.

5. Trust His Timing

Purpose unfolds; it doesn’t rush. What God has for you will not miss you. Stay ready, stay faithful, and let Him order your steps.

Wherever you are—30 years in or 30 minutes—reflect, with God, on your purpose and choose to walk boldly in it, rooted in Christ and blooming right on time.
